Thank you for your interest in working at Pat's Meat Market. At Pat's, we have a busy and friendly neighborhood environment with a long history in Portland and in Deering Center. Foremost, we are customer driven, as mainly everything we do involves customer interaction and service. You could be a great meat cutter or chef, but frankly if you don't like working with people, this won't be for you. If you enjoy people and are hardworking, you will fit right in. Please take a moment to answer these questions honestly.

Although experience helps, often people who are willing to learn and work hard are just as valuable employees! Life experiences can substitute for work experience if you have never worked in this environment.

Preferable Shift (Part-Time)
We work around schedules all the time and understand other obligations. This just gives us an idea of an optimal (morning opposed to afternoon) schedule. (9am-1pm could easily be an option)
Deli Side (prep, making sandwiches, serving & making soups, produce maintenance, & many other duties)
Meat Side (cutting meat, waiting on customers, register duty, inventory maintenance, & many other duties)
Both (willing to learn both or work on both sides at different times as necessary)
Experience (not a deal breaker, please be honest)
used a slicer
cooked in a kitchen
maintained small market inventory
arranged groceries and produce
familiar with registers or POS systems
cut meat (preferably at an efficient pace)
attended a counter interacting directly with customers
dishes in a commercial setting
used a butcher's knot
cook at home frequently
